Hit Me With Your Sun Shot

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) launched the American-Made Solar Photo Competition: Hit Me with Your Sun Shot to find the best photographs of solar energy technologies, research, and the people and communities benefiting from solar energy.  

Winners can earn up to $2,500 for a photo in one of eight categories: 

  1. Solar and Weather
  2. Solar Workforce and Installation
  3. Concentrating Solar-thermal Power  
  4. Research Processes, Solar Technologies in Detail, and Manufacturing 
  5. Utility-Scale, Commercial Solar, and Grid Integration 
  6. Community Solar/Multifamily Housing 
  7. Residential Solar  
  8. Agriculture and Solar, Solar in Nature, Solar and Wildlife  

SETO will feature winning entries on its website, at solar events and conferences, and in other outreach materials. 

All professional and amateur photographers are encouraged to submit their photos. Photos submitted must be taken in the United States or U.S. territories and be an original work of the person submitting. Submissions are due May 23 at 5 p.m. ET
